As a Senior Java Microservices Engineer – Payments and Cloud Infrastructure, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution. You’ll be instrumental in delivering our client’s Future State Architecture for payment processing, introducing a lean, reusable payment engine that will underpin next-generation payment capabilities. Your main responsibilities:
Lead the engineering efforts to develop next-generation payment processing capabilities aligned with the Future State Architecture.
Produce high-quality code, surpass quality gates, and develop robust test scripts ensuring reliable software delivery.
Focus on delivering highly available and resilient software services that meet business needs.
Support the transformation of current payment systems by adopting cloud-based and modern technologies.
Set standards for software delivery, exemplifying technical excellence; advise on process improvements.
Analyze and resolve complex technical and business issues, providing innovative solutions.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and secure deployment practices.
Conduct feasibility studies, perform detailed system specifications, and guide design and implementation.
Review existing and new systems, ensuring operational integrity and compliance with controls and standards.
Offer architecture guidance based on best practices and global standards; stay updated on the latest tech trends, including cybersecurity and data regulations.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
At least 8 years’ experience in software engineering, especially in API design and microservices architecture.
Proven expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and distributed systems design.
Strong background in back-end development, application security, and middleware technologies.
Hands-on knowledge of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, and OpenTelemetry.
Cloud and DevOps exposure, including network configuration, security, and infrastructure sizing in cloud environments.
SQL proficiency and familiarity with infrastructure components like Linux, load balancing, and storage.
Prior experience working in the financial or payments industry.
It is a strong plus if you have:
Certifications or experience in cyber security, data privacy, or related standards.
Language Required for the role:
Fluent in English (verbal and written).
