Senior Java Developer – Financial Trading Systems

Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client in the financial services industry, specializing in foreign exchange and derivatives trading systems. You will contribute to building and maintaining cutting-edge trading risk platforms that impact global markets, driving technological excellence and strategic growth.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deploy derivatives trading and risk management systems using Java and industry-leading deployment tools.
• Own and coordinate end-to-end delivery activities, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify needs, and translate them into clear technical specifications.
• Develop robust, innovative solutions to complex domain challenges within trading platforms.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all solutions comply with internal controls and external regulatory standards.
• Stay updated on current business processes and technological constraints to inform ongoing development.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years’ hands-on Java development experience (Core Java 1.7+).
• Strong knowledge of Java, J2EE, JVM, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, microservices architecture, and messaging queues.
• Experience with build and deployment tools such as Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid SQL skills and Linux experience, including Bash or Korn shell scripting.
• Familiarity with data formats like XML and JSON and integration patterns.
• Understanding of IT Service Management practices (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with strong written and spoken English communication.
• Collaborative mindset, with DevOps experience and track record of delivering on large enterprise projects.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Delivery experience within banking or financial services.
• Domain knowledge of financial derivatives, treasury products, and front-office workflows.
• Exposure to exchange-traded instruments and algorithmic trading systems.

Language Required for the role:

Fluent English (both spoken and written).
