Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).
As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the finance/technologies industry, dedicated to transforming data workflows and ensuring seamless system integration. Your main responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to design, build, and operate backend services for data integration and replication.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust ETL workflows and APIs to synchronize data between Atlassian platforms and systems.
- Work closely with the engineering team to design and deliver new features, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Proactively engage with internal customers to troubleshoot issues, address feature requests, and provide operational support.
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Contribute to an agile, CI/CD-driven environment, delivering frequent, high-quality releases.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 5 years of experience in Java (Spring Framework).
- Proficiency in at least two or three of the following: API development, SQL/PostgreSQL database management, ETL workflows, React.
- Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments, including the use of Jira and Confluence.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful service design.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- English proficiency (B2+).
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Good working knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience building out CI toolchains using Jenkins CI/CD.
- A background in Systems Administration across Linux/AIX/WAS platforms.
