Senior IT Cost and Contract Manager

Kraków - based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).
As a Senior IT Cost and Contract Manager, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution that is undertaking a strategic transformation of its vendor and contract management operations. You will be managing complex IT contract portfolios, focusing on both infrastructure and software licensing agreements. The role is key in supporting the client’s digital strategy by optimizing supplier engagement, improving governance, and ensuring compliance and cost control. You will also be leading a small team and collaborating with senior stakeholders to streamline procurement and contractual processes.
Your main responsibilities:
Overseeing the full contract lifecycle for IBM MVS and Sapphire agreements
Reviewing and approving contracts and purchase orders using platforms such as COUPA
Managing compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements
Coordinating invoicing, spend tracking, and financial reconciliation processes
Leading roadmap and demand planning sessions with Product Owners and Domain Leads
Organizing and running governance meetings with suppliers
Preparing effective license position and quarterly declarations for software assets
Supervising and guiding junior contract managers in daily operations
Maintaining accurate documentation and single-source sharepoints for contract records
Building strong relationships with stakeholders across business and technology units
You're ideal for this role if you have:
Demonstrating proven experience in IT contract management within large organizations
Managing infrastructure and software licensing contracts across global environments
Understanding end-to-end contract lifecycle including negotiation, compliance, and renewals
Using tools such as COUPA, ESMT, and SharePoint for procurement and documentation
Leading cross-functional meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Providing financial oversight on contracts including cost tracking and reporting
Communicating effectively across all levels, including senior leadership
Guiding and developing junior team members
Implementing contract governance frameworks and tracking performance metrics
Handling escalations and resolving payment or procurement issues efficiently
It is a strong plus if you have:
Holding certifications in contract management (e.g., CIPS, IACCM)
Possessing experience in managing IBM or Sapphire-specific contracts
Working knowledge of procurement processes in banking or financial services
Familiarity with software licensing metrics and true-up processes
Previous involvement in vendor consolidation or cost optimization initiatives
