As a Senior IBM iSeries Support Engineer in Wealth Management, you will be working for our client, a leading financial services organization dedicated to delivering world-class post-trade investment solutions to UK wealth clients. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of back-end systems crucial for transaction settlement, corporate actions, client reporting, and regulatory compliance. Your main responsibilities:
- Provide responsive and reliable production support during UK business hours, ensuring system availability aligned with SLAs.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents swiftly, leveraging a thorough understanding of system functionality and data flows.
- Engage directly with business users and stakeholders to manage end-to-end issue resolution.
- Manage support tickets, prioritize tasks, and implement short-term mitigations and long-term fixes.
- Conduct regular operational activities, including system upgrades, data archiving, security reviews, and audit support.
- Contribute to project-based work involving requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Develop technical documentation and solution designs in accordance with engineering standards.
- Promote best practices in quality engineering and actively participate in Agile/DevOps workflows.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support or software development within an enterprise or global environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM iSeries and ILE RPG.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Proficiency in system and business analysis.
- Excellent written and spoken English, capable of collaborating with global teams.
- Self-motivated with effective time management skills.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Exposure to modernisation approaches such as SQLRPG, free format RPG, or APIs.
- Basic understanding of investment banking or wealth management operations.
- Knowledge of securities custody or core banking systems.
Language Required for the role:
Fluent English.
