As a Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake Data Platform (Bronze/Silver/Gold), you will be working for our client’s DIP team, building and maintaining the data layer that delivers trusted, analytics-ready assets for downstream reporting and systems. You’ll take direct ownership of Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers—moving data through Snowflake, enforcing quality, and ensuring the platform standards and patterns stay consistent as new data streams come online. With an AI-assisted engineering approach built into day-to-day delivery, you’ll use AI tools as a natural part of how you design, implement, test, and document data work.

Your main responsibilities:

• Build and maintain the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within Snowflake, enabling reporting, analytics, and downstream data egress.

• Design and implement Snowflake data models aligned to the canonical domain model (e.g., fund structures, investors, GL, NAV, compliance).

• Develop and operate Streams, Tasks, and Stored Procedures to orchestrate pipelines and support incremental processing.

• Own data quality by implementing validation, monitoring, and alerting so Gold-layer outputs remain trustworthy.

• Work with Fivetran-synced source data and Snowflake Secure Data Shares, establishing clean ingestion patterns at the Bronze/Silver boundary.

• Use AI-assisted development (LLMs and code generation) to accelerate transformation SQL, scaffolding for scripts/app features, test case creation, and automation of documentation.

• Build Streamlit applications in Snowflake for internal operational tooling (e.g., data review queues, reconciliation dashboards, provisioning workflows).

• Enable analytics & BI use cases by structuring Gold-layer outputs for Power BI, Qlik, and client-facing analytics—partnering with BI specialists to avoid duplication and technical debt.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience (proven through role history).

• Deep practical expertise in Snowflake, including data modelling, SQL optimisation, and Streams/Tasks/Stored Procedures.

• Experience with Snowflake Secure Data Shares and building robust ingestion/processing patterns.

• Strong Python development for data processing utilities and operational tooling (including Streamlit applications).

• Experience implementing layered data warehouse architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion or equivalent).

• Experience with ELT/ingestion tooling such as Fivetran (desired) or equivalent approaches.

• Evidence of using AI-assisted development in delivery—embedded in how you work (e.g., transformation generation, testing support, documentation automation).

• Experience enabling downstream reporting with Power BI and/or Qlik, aligning data models to consumer needs.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• SnowPro certification in Snowflake.

• Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and master data management / golden record patterns.

• Exposure to fund administration, private capital, or broader financial services data environments.

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and how they apply to financial services data.
