Senior Data Engineer – Hadoop & Cloud Data Platforms

As a Senior Data Engineer – Hadoop & Cloud Data Platforms, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution focused on transforming data into strategic business insights. You will contribute to building a revolutionary data analytics ecosystem that elevates customer experiences and outpaces competitors by managing extensive, complex datasets from global sources. Your main responsibilities:

• Design software solutions, develop with Python and GCP, and automate testing in an Agile, DevOps environment.

• Promote coding standards, participate in code reviews, and share knowledge across teams.

• Develop and support data pipelines using Hadoop, PySpark, Scala, Hive, and Java.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring performance, scalability, accuracy, and system availability.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to interpret requirements and with Testers to validate implementations.

• Contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, influencing system architecture and feature design.

• Provide 3rd line support for data platform components.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.

• Strong expertise in Hadoop ecosystem and data management frameworks such as Hive, PySpark, Scala, Java.

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and experience with CI/CD practices is a plus.

• Optional experience with BigQuery and DataProc.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in Big Data or Cloud platforms.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
