Senior Data Engineer – Cloud Data Platforms and Streaming

As a Senior Data Engineer – Cloud Data Platforms and Streaming, you will be working for our client, a leading provider of AI-powered investment research infrastructure for hedge fund clients with extensive data needs. You will contribute to building scalable, compliant data infrastructure that supports analytics, AI pipelines, and regulatory reporting, enabling high-impact financial decision-making.

Your main responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable data pipelines on our cloud data platform.
• Develop and maintain data solutions using Databricks, Snowflake, and Postgres.
• Build and operate streaming and event-driven architectures with RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Design workflow orchestration using Prefect or similar tools.
• Manage containerized deployments on Azure with Kubernetes.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure data reliability, quality, and compliance with strict SEC requirements.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 6 years of experience in large-scale data engineering projects.
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks and Snowflake.
• Proven experience building streaming pipelines with RabbitMQ and/or Kafka.
• Solid skills in SQL and Python programming.
• Experience with Azure cloud environment and Kubernetes.
• A platform and infrastructure engineering mindset focused on reliability and scale.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Background in financial services or regulated data environments.
• Experience with Postgres at scale, including optimization and maintenance.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of dbt or similar data transformation tools.
