Warsaw-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (2-3 days/week in the office).

As a Senior Backend Developer (Java) you will be working for our client, a global leader providing cutting-edge infrastructure for financial markets, supporting securities trading, post-trade services, and financial data operations worldwide. You will be part of the Stock Exchange Engineering team, driving the development of mission-critical back-end systems that ensure market oversight and integrity. The project focuses on building high-performance, resilient platforms for trading and market data, enabling real-time insights and reliable financial operations that form the backbone of international market infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance Java-based internal interfaces for trading and market data ingestion

• Build and maintain system integration scripts ensuring interoperability across multiple platforms and services

• Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments

• Expand automated testing frameworks to include unit, integration, and regression coverage

• Develop and improve Ansible roles to standardize deployments across environments

• Collaborate within an agile DevOps culture, contributing to continuous improvement and shared ownership

• Support performance tuning and troubleshooting of distributed systems

• Participate in architectural discussions and technical design reviews

• Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices in security and compliance

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable software solutions

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development (Java 17+, Maven, JUnit5)

• Proven expertise in Python and Ansible for automation and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Strong DevOps mindset with experience managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines

• Proficiency in Linux command-line environments and system troubleshooting

• Familiarity with Docker, OpenShift, and PostgreSQL in enterprise environments

• Experience designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks

• Understanding of financial systems or real-time data processing environments

• Exposure to the FIX protocol and Kafka or similar messaging technologies

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Strong collaboration skills and experience working in agile teams (SCRUM, SAFe)

• Exposure to C++ considered a plus
