Krakow-based opportunity with the possibility to work 60% remote (2 days in the office/3 days remote)
As an Observability Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services, as part of a project enhancing the observability of critical infrastructure systems. This role focuses on improving the performance, reliability, and monitoring of a key platform, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering innovative solutions. You will work in a dynamic environment that prioritizes technology excellence and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with policies and controls.
Your main responsibilities:
- Implementing and maintaining the observability and monitoring framework to meet diverse stakeholder needs
- Delivering activities aligned with the monitoring and observability roadmap for the platform
- Collaborating with application teams to set up observability for their systems, including dashboards, visualization, and monitoring
- Providing consultancy on self-healing solutions for applications
- Developing and evolving a performance and tracing practice using tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and ThousandEyes
- Collaborating with operations, engineering, and application teams to identify long-term observability requirements
- Automating deployments through scripting to reduce operational tasks
- Integrating Splunk with other monitoring tools to enhance capabilities
- Adhering to policies, procedures, and control requirements in daily operations and project activities
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Implementing and adjusting tools and methodology for monitoring and observability for ThousandEyes, knowledge of Splunk or AppDynamics will be a plus
- Gaining experience with a range of architecture tech stacks including Java app servers, Web Servers, Golang, Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF, AWS, and Google Cloud
- Conducting JavaScript, API tests, and working with DNS and HTTP Protocol
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs, tracking key performance indicators to senior leadership, providing regular updates, identifying trends, and highlighting areas for improvement
- Building and maintaining strong interpersonal and communication skills to form relationships with business and technology groups through day-to-day support and project work
- Understanding end-to-end business/functional processes and translating business requirements into system requirements while performing impact analysis of changes
- Writing technical documentation, including queries, reports, and presentations
