As a Senior Software Developer in Transformation & Digital IT, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial services organization. You will contribute to designing and implementing a modsec-based Web Application Firewall (WAF) that secures internal services across the organization. This role offers an exciting chance to work on a state-of-the-art security project in a fast-paced, agile environment, fostering professional growth and technological innovation.
Your main responsibilities:
- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of development tasks, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with global teams in Europe and Asia to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as Sprint planning, Scrum meetings, and Backlog grooming.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and testing processes to enhance efficiency and cycle time.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to understand data flow, optimize application performance, and improve platform monitoring.
- Resolve production issues during UK working hours, ensuring platform stability and swift resolution.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 4 years of experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Proficiency in C and Linux/Unix systems.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP APIs, such as RESTful services.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions on Cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) and on-premise environments.
- Familiarity with software design best practices, unit and integration testing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Self-motivated, analytical mindset with decisive problem-solving skills.
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
- Knowledge of Java JNI and modern system integration.
- Experience with Node.js and related system architectures.
- Familiarity with HSBC-cranker or similar enterprise security tools.

- Fluent English (required).
