Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model (3 days remote, 2 days in-office).
As a Mainframe Systems Technical Lead, you will be working for our client, a key player supporting IBM infrastructure operations for Germany. Join a dynamic team to oversee mission-critical mainframe systems, ensure seamless operations, and drive technological excellence across borders—fueling European digital transformation and enterprise resilience.
Your main responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of mainframe professionals to deliver high-quality infrastructure support
- Oversee IBM Mainframe systems operations and maintenance activities
- Manage batch scheduling processes using IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)
- Develop and troubleshoot JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for job execution
- Support IBM z/OS environments serving major European companies in Germany
- Coordinate between Poland and Germany teams (total of 12 colleagues: 7 in Poland, 5 in Germany)
- Work flexible shifts starting between 6 AM-8 AM, with coverage for additional shifts if needed
- Participate in the on-call rotation following the training period (approximately one period every 5-6 weeks)
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe or similar enterprise environments
- Strong expertise with IBM Mainframe systems and z/OS infrastructure
- Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language)
- Experience with IBM z/OS-IWS (IBM Workload Scheduler)
- Proven team management and leadership skills
- Hands-on experience with batch scheduling tools and processes
- Fluent English for interviews and daily communication
- Availability to start by 8 AM, ideally covering early shift schedules
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
- Certification in mainframe or IBM infrastructure technologies
- Experience working in a multi-national or cross-border team environment
