GitLab Engineer / DevOps Engineer

Warsaw based opportunity with a hybrid work model with 3 days/week in the office.

As a GitLab Engineer / DevOps Engineer you will be working for our client, a global provider of financial infrastructure and technology services supporting banks and financial institutions worldwide. The client is driving digital transformation and innovation across trading, clearing, information, and payment solutions. In this role, you will join the centralized DevOps Tools Team to design, build, and maintain GitLab components and CI/CD tooling that empower development teams. You will enhance automation, scalability, and reliability while exploring AI-driven capabilities to optimize developer experience and delivery performance.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage GitLab components and configurations including groups, projects, runners, pipelines, and templates

• Build and maintain shared CI/CD pipelines and reusable templates for scalable delivery

• Integrate additional DevOps tools such as artifact repositories, secret management, and security scanning

• Implement and maintain GitLab Runners with enterprise-grade reliability and security

• Contribute to automated testing frameworks and integrate quality gates into pipelines

• Explore and apply AI-enabled use cases in CI/CD to improve quality and efficiency

• Collaborate with security, platform, and product teams to standardize workflows and enforce policies

• Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, cost, and reliability while defining SLAs and KPIs

• Develop documentation, training, and enablement materials to support internal users

• Drive continuous improvement through automation and feedback loops

  
  

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, GitLab Engineering, or related fields

• Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, runners, pipelines, and related integrations

• Solid programming experience in Python and Java

• Proven experience with DevSecOps practices and modern SDLC methodologies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a “get things done” mindset

• Good coordination and organizational abilities

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an international environment

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

• High level of proficiency in English, both written and spoken

• Additional languages such as German, Polish, or Spanish considered a plus
