As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution. You will be contributing to the Payments Services IT division, ensuring seamless software development and deployment. Your role involves managing cloud-native infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting software teams in delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, you will play a crucial role in automating processes, improving system reliability, and driving innovation in the financial sector.
Your main responsibilities:
- Creating and updating API/microservice design and documentation
- Reviewing and signing off user stories written by Ops BAs and low-level designs created by Tech Architects
- Performing code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural principles
- Working with IT Project Managers to create and maintain project plans
- Assisting IT Project Managers in the ITSA process
- Resolving development blockers and ensuring smooth collaboration between teams
- Communicating with tech architects and management to provide updates on progress and challenges
- Ensuring pipeline requirements are incorporated into the DevOps book of work on time
- Collaborating with Test QA teams to apply quality gates on deliverables
- Owning and arranging code review sessions with the management team
- Creating production support walkthrough and release checklist documents
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and Istio Service Mesh
- Proficiency in traditional DevOps technologies like Bash/Shell scripting, Groovy or Java, Unix/Linux, Jenkins, and GitHub
- Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining distributed containerized platforms
- Experience in delivering CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and management levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with security best practices in DevOps environments
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience working in a financial or payments services IT environment
