As a Development Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution, on an innovative compliance transparency platform. The project involves building a Kotlin-based web application and API set that enables control owners and development teams to track their compliance with software development controls. With a microservice architecture and modern coding techniques, you will contribute to a cutting-edge technology stack in an agile CI/CD environment. Your role will focus on designing, developing, and implementing both front-end and back-end features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the system meets business requirements.
Your main responsibilities:
- Collaborating with developers, testers, and stakeholders to enhance the ICE product
- Designing, developing, and implementing front-end and back-end features based on priority
- Building APIs and microservices to solve complex business challenges
- Working in an agile CI/CD environment to deliver rapid iterations
- Proactively resolving customer issues and responding to feature requests
- Participating in peer reviews and testing code through automated test scripting
- Ensuring software development complies with relevant controls and security measures
- Utilizing collaboration tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence
- Contributing to system architecture discussions and decision-making
- Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Experience in Kotlin or Java with a willingness to learn Kotlin
- Proficiency in at least two or three of the following: API development, SQL/databases, HTML/JavaScript
- Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
- Understanding of microservices and their architecture
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid setting
- Knowledge of software security best practices
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Fluent English
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Background in Systems Administration across Linux/AIX/WAS platforms
- Knowledge of test automation tools and methodologies
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools for microservices
