Data Engineer

Kraków - based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution focused on building and optimizing a modern data platform to support critical business operations. You will be developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions aligned with industry standards. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams, architects, and business analysts to deliver accurate and efficient data integration processes. You will also be contributing to design decisions, ensuring code quality, and supporting the continuous improvement of the data ecosystem.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining data pipelines to ensure efficient data integration

• Optimizing processes for performance, scalability, and reliability

• Building and managing CI/CD workflows to support data delivery

• Performing code reviews and ensuring adherence to design and quality standards

• Collaborating with architects, business analysts, and product owners to align solutions with requirements

• Resolving technical issues together with the development team

• Defining and maintaining the technology stack and contributing to the roadmap

• Ensuring compliance with security, controls, and architecture standards

• Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to DevOps practices

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the data platform

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL, including procedures, packages, and query optimization

• Hands-on experience with Unix shell scripting

• Knowledge of Jenkins, Ansible, and GitHub for automation and CI/CD

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with business, IT teams, and peers

• Experience participating in architecture groups and forums

• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies

• Experience implementing advanced error handling in data processes

• Proven track record of working in collaborative, cross-functional teams

• Strong ability to ensure alignment with performance, scalability, and security standards

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with Perl scripting

• Knowledge of modern data engineering practices and tools

• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and services

• Familiarity with data governance and compliance practices

• Experience presenting technical solutions to stakeholders
