As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution that is driving a large-scale cloud transformation program. The project focuses on building a secure and compliant cloud infrastructure, specifically in AWS, to support business-critical applications and services. You will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the design and implementation of automated security controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting innovation in cloud-native environments. This role is crucial in enhancing the client's cloud security posture while enabling agile and efficient service delivery.
Your main responsibilities:
- Writing and maintaining preventive, detective, and corrective controls for AWS workloads
- Testing and continuously monitoring security controls for effectiveness and compliance
- Supporting remediation implementation in alignment with defined cloud security controls
- Documenting security and compliance procedures and keeping them up to date
- Collaborating with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to gather security requirements
- Driving continuous improvements in cloud security practices and automation efforts
- Supporting incident response processes and investigations related to cloud environments
- Researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities relevant to AWS infrastructure
- Developing secure infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Ensuring alignment of controls with Cloud Security Architecture and Cyber Security Engineering
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services
- Background in a cloud security-focused role such as DevSecOps or Cyber Security Engineering
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Familiarity with database languages such as SQL and data formats like JSON, XML, CSV
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and practices in a technical environment
- Fluent English
- Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in cloud environments
- High personal integrity and a proactive, self-motivated attitude
It is a strong plus if you have:
- AWS Cloud Architecture certification(s)
- Professional security-related qualifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
- Experience working with cloud security posture management tools like JupiterOne
