Kraków-based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office, 3 days remote).
As a Batch Scheduling Specialist – Mainframe & Automation, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution delivering secure and reliable IT services for critical enterprise systems. You will be responsible for maintaining the operational stability, integrity, and availability of batch processes on mainframe environments, ensuring compliance with service management standards. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive automation, monitor performance, and manage incidents to guarantee high-quality, resilient software operations, while continuously improving workflows to meet business demands and customer expectations.
Your main responsibilities:
Ensuring operational stability, integrity, and availability of products and services
Delivering infrastructure changes with a focus on automation, build, testing, and deployment
Monitoring and maintaining system performance, availability, and resilience
Providing support in identification and resolution of incidents
Ensuring compliance with Service Management Standards and data quality requirements
Developing and deploying changes to meet load, performance, and security requirements
Driving levels of automation and continuous integration across environments
Managing incident and change requests according to SLA requirements
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain service resilience and sustainability
Maintaining accurate documentation and knowledge within service management systems
You're ideal for this role if you have:
At least 3 years of experience in IT, specifically with mainframe operations
Solid knowledge of JCL for IBM z/OS on Mainframe
Good knowledge of IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)
Basic knowledge of Horizont IWS Graph, BatchCP, BatchAD & XINFO
Very good English language skills (written and spoken)
Incident and change management skills with understanding of SLAs
Strong analytical and solution-oriented approach to work
Experience delivering high-quality and resilient infrastructure changes
Knowledge of automation, continuous integration, and system monitoring
Experience ensuring operational compliance and service reliability
Strong communication and teamwork skills
It is a strong plus if you have:
Knowledge of German language (spoken)
Experience working with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
