As an Automation Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution undergoing a large-scale transformation of its IT infrastructure. The project focuses on streamlining operations through advanced automation practices, supporting both cloud and on-premise environments. You will be part of a specialized team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and ensure consistent and secure deployments. This role combines hands-on scripting, infrastructure management, and CI/CD integration, offering an opportunity to influence how enterprise-scale systems are automated and operated.
- Designing and developing automation workflows to streamline infrastructure processes
- Creating and maintaining scripts and tools to reduce manual tasks
- Collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to automate deployment processes
- Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for software delivery
- Writing and maintaining scripts using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Monitoring automation systems and resolving operational issues
- Optimizing existing workflows to enhance performance and scalability
- Participating in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of automation failures
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify new automation opportunities
- Documenting automation solutions and maintaining best practices
- Extensive experience in automation engineering within on-prem infrastructure environments
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
- Hands-on experience with automation tools like Ansible or Jenkins
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their implementation
- Strong Linux administration skills and experience working with VMs
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse technical teams
- Experience managing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration
- Familiarity with secure coding and automation best practices
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with API development or integration
- Experience working with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus or ELK
- Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and cloud-native automation
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code practices and tools
- Understanding of enterprise security requirements in automation
- Experience with service orchestration or workflow automation platforms
- Background in financial or banking IT environments
- Familiarity with Agile or DevSecOps methodologies
- Involvement in code reviews and collaborative development practices
