AEM Backend Developer

Kraków - based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As an AEM Backend Developer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution enhancing its digital presence through public websites and campaign messaging. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services on Adobe Experience Manager, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure delivery of digital solutions. Collaborating closely with frontend developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams, you will implement REST services, manage content repositories, and follow best practices for AEM development. Your work will ensure seamless integration, high performance, and consistent user experiences across web platforms and campaigns.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing backend services on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

• Developing and maintaining Java-based AEM components and services

• Implementing and integrating RESTful services for web and campaign functionalities

• Working with Apache Sling, OSGi, and JCR for content management

• Writing unit tests using JUnit and AEM Mocks to ensure code quality

• Managing builds and dependencies using Maven and version control with Git

• Performing code quality analysis using SonarQube and following best practices

• Collaborating with frontend developers and cross-functional teams during delivery

• Troubleshooting and debugging backend issues to ensure performance and stability

• Contributing to process improvements and standardization within the AEM platform

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager

• Strong proficiency in Java programming and object-oriented design

• Experience with Apache Sling, OSGi, and JCR repository management

• Hands-on experience developing and consuming RESTful services

• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks, including JUnit and AEM Mocks

• Experience using Maven for project builds and Git for version control

• Familiarity with code quality tools such as SonarQube

• Understanding of frontend technologies like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in campaign messaging and email template integrations

• Knowledge of AEM workflows and deployment pipelines

• Exposure to performance optimization for AEM services

• Experience in Agile delivery environments
