Íslandsbanki is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer / Infrastructure Architect for its Enterprise Architecture team.
The primary responsibility of the role is to design, develop and operate a variety of solutions related to Platform Engineering for the Digital & Data department. The focus is to provide self-service capabilities, standardised tooling, and automated workflows for software delivery teams. Its primary goal is to improve developer experience, reduce cognitive load, and accelerate delivery of business value by abstracting infrastructure complexity and offering reusable components and services.
A key focus for the role is to upskill developers to self-service more around automation in the software delivery lifecycle with an additional focus on applying Generative AI (Github Copilot and M365 Copilot) to increase developer productivity.
Responsibilities and duties
Pipeline development, tool integration, monitoring and optimization.
Implementing templates and solutions to facilitate automatic testability, recoverability from failures and ensure built in privacy and security.
Maintenance and creation of cross team shared solutions for common problems.
Architectural advice on best practices for build and deployment processes.
Creating and maintaining quality gates to ensure code meets predefined standards.
Administration of Platform Solutions to support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Qualifications
Passion for automating everything, integration and unit testing, REST API first development, data and event-driven architectures.
Experience working with CI/CD solutions, YAML, Kubernetes, PowerShell and/or Bash scripting, and Git is required.
Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies.
Experience working with our technical stack is a plus but not a requisite: Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Itsio, ArgoCD, Github Enterprise, MSSQL, .NET, C#, VSCode, Github Copilot, OAuth2, Angular, Karate Testing Framework and Liquibase.
Education and Experience:
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent programming, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or a software developer is preferred.
Experience working in Banking or Fintech is a plus.
