Senior PHP Developer (Laravel)

We are looking for an experienced Senior PHP Developer (with Laravel) to join the team of our client from Ireland - rapidly growing SaaS provider in the health and social care sector, developing a unified, integrated platform that connects providers, caregivers, and families to transform how care is delivered and managed.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building and modernizing customer-critical features of the platform by gradually migrating legacy PHP code into well-structured Laravel services, enhancing reliability, performance, and maintainability within a multi-tenant architecture.

• Enhancing data access strategies by minimizing unnecessary data retrieval, tuning underperforming queries, and navigating legacy schemas and stored procedures in a safe and controlled way.

• Ensuring robust multi-tenant protection by applying strict tenant separation, managing permissions, improving traceability, and promoting secure-by-default configurations.

• Elevating engineering standards by introducing meaningful unit and integration testing, facilitating thorough code reviews, maintaining CI best practices, and creating documentation.

• Collaborating closely with product, QA, and operations teams to deliver releases reliably while minimizing incidents and regressions.

You will be the best fit if you have:

• 5+ years of experience as PHP Developer.

• 3+ years of work experience with Laravel.

• Experience working with legacy code (strangler pattern, incremental refactor, migrations without “big bang” rewrites).

• Strong SQL skills (performance tuning, query plans, indexes basics, working with ugly schemas).

• Experience building or working on multi-tenant SaaS systems and handling data separation.

• Focus on quality and testing, but able to keep delivery moving.

• Experience designing REST APIs, working with OAuth/JWT, and handling background jobs/queues.

• Experience with AWS (or another cloud), containers, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with AI tools (GitLab duo, cursor, Claude code).

• English level B2 or higher.
