IT Business Analyst

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst with a strong background in finance and accounting business processes and advanced SQL skills to join a prestigious financial services project based in Wrocław. The ideal candidate will bridge business requirements and technical solutions, leveraging deep understanding of financial data flows, accounting logic, and capital market instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Finance & Accounting Process Expertise: Support IT initiatives with strong knowledge of finance, accounting, and capital markets.
• Advanced SQL & Data Modelling: Write and optimize complex SQL queries (including multi-table joins) for data analysis and transformation.
• Functional Testing & Requirements Management: Handle requirements and testing for financial data domains such as:
• General ledger
• Journals
• Positions
• Trial balance
• Profit & Loss
• Balance sheet
• Wealth management client static data
• Accounting Engine Logic: Understand and work with complex accounting engine SQL logic for data sourcing and transformation.
• Sub-Ledger & Reporting Systems: Leverage experience with bank sub-ledger platforms and finance applications for process enhancement.
• Asset Class Coverage: Work across a broad range of asset classes including:
• Equities
• Fixed income
• Bank guarantees
• Loans
• Lending products
• User Interaction: Capture requirements directly from finance and accounting users, manage change requests, and ensure accurate delivery across sourcing, accounting, and reporting layers.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst within finance and accounting domains
• Expertise in SQL writing and data modeling, especially involving complex joins
• Solid experience in functional testing and requirement analysis for financial systems
• Knowledge of accounting engines, data transformation via SQL, and ledger management
• Familiarity with bank sub-ledger and finance platforms
• Experience handling a wide spectrum of asset classes
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with finance users and translate requirements into functional solutions

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP Fioneer
• Knowledge of SAP FSDM
