Our explosive growth has opened up a unique job opportunity for a VP of Engineering. This role uniqueness is all about the combination of technology-, people- and operation-oriented ingredients. We are looking for a leader to drive the development of our healthcare products, ensuring the highest levels of cooperation and effectiveness in our development and QA teams, whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
VP of Engineering will be partnering with
Paweł Iwaszko (Chief Technology Officer),
Tim Price (VP of Product),
Łukasz Przywarty (VP of Design), and the rest of the executive team to achieve the company's long-term vision.
On an everyday basis, you will contribute through in-person and/or virtual interactions with engineers, QAs, and other members of the technology teams, through assessment of software engineering practices within the Technology Team and across the Technology Department as a whole. You will also be co-responsible for Operational Maturity in the engineering practice across the assigned teams in the Technology Department, including hiring needs forecasts, assessments, and logistics.

What you’ll bring to the team
- 10+ years of combined development experience (ideally Python/Vue, but Java/React or Angular is also applicable).
- Experience working with cross-functional product teams and product management.
- Experience coordinating hybrid and fully-remote engineering teams.
- Experience scaling engineering and infrastructure teams at a fast-growing startup.
- Supportive manager of managers with the ability to mentor and grow engineers and engineering managers (you will also perform review cycles for engineers).
- Experience in recruiting and interviewing tech talents.
- Experience working in an international environment.
- Experience fostering an environment of innovation and promoting engineering best practices across teams.
- Understanding of modern, cloud-native software architectures.
- Ability to engage in architectural discussions, determine tradeoffs and drive the discussion towards decisions.
- Ability to review software quality and identify areas for improvements.
- Fluent English (both written and spoken).
- Embodying and sharing our core values - support, quality, and transparency.
Beneficial skills
- Technical degree, ideally also management one.
- Experience with healthcare, certification, or sensitive data processing.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the company strategy and ensuring timely execution of the product vision.
- Leading and motivating engineering teams; ensuring they have everything that’s needed for building quality and robust technology.
- Direct management of Development, Agile and QA lead.
- Instilling strong software engineering practices in the teams.
- Working with the Agile team on shaping the optimal structure of development teams.
- Partnering with Talent Acquisition on tech hiring strategy and attracting the best tech talent to join Infermedica.
- Identifying and resolving roadblocks like inefficient team dependencies, technical debt, conflicts, etc.
- Ensuring quality and security of developed solutions in accordance with industry-standard regulations.
- Contributing to employer branding activities by representing Infermedica Tech during meetups, conferences, hackathons, and other tech-related events.
