You’ll be joining our MetaBase team. The team is responsible for the products used by our teams to curate, test, and maintain our medical knowledge base and inference engine - our differentiator and competitive moat. You’ll be collaborating with a cross-functional team of product designers, developers, QAs, data scientists, and more, as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders. You will take part in implementing a new ontology domain into our Knowledge Base product, enhancing its capabilities to provide medical support to patients worldwide. 

Our tech-stack includes Python, Django, Django Rest Framework, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Terraform, GraphDB, OWL, and RDF.

Role requirements

• Hands-on experience with OWL and RDF for modeling data and utilizing ontologies in software products
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SPARQL queries
• Familiarity with rule engines and rule languages such as SWRL or Datalog
• Experience working with RDF graph databases (e.g., GraphDB, Stardog, Apache Jena/Fuseki)
• Solid background in data modeling and documenting data models
• Experience working with ontologies, preferably in the healthcare domain (e.g., SNOMED CT)
• Strong understanding of logic, reasoning, and semantic technologies
• Proficiency in programming with Python or Java
• Fluency in both English and Polish, spoken and written, to ensure seamless communication and teamwork in a multilingual environment
• Ability to gather and define business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the development team
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Proactive attitude with a sense of ownership and a "can-do" mindset

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and secure software
• Implement a new ontology domain into our Knowledge Base product to empower and robust our product, providing medical help to patients worldwide. 
• Understand and work with ontologies, including SNOMED CT
• Get familiar with the architecture of our Interference Core
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development
• Design robust solutions to complex technical problems
• Play an active role in requirement analysis, ensuring software solutions meet business needs
• Work closely with Tech, Product, and Medical Teams to support team members and provide guidance when needed
