Backend Developer

The Backend Developer works on the company’s in-house projects by designing features, writing code, performing code reviews, solving problems, tracking down bugs, and delivering stable and well-written solutions. He/she forms part of a cross-functional development team where the team owns and drives the continuous improvement of the products using agile methodologies. 

Accountabilities include but not limited to: 

• Designing and developing new Backend features 

• Performing functional requirements analysis 

• Writing high-quality code and documentation 

• Working closely with other developers, QA, and product teams 

• Applying analytical skills and showingcommitment to quality 

• Help to track requests, issues, work progress, and any other changes using our project management tools. 

• Providing estimates and technical documentation on request 

• Writing code with performance, reliability, and maintainability in mind 

• Managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables 

• Working in collaboration with external partners when required 

• Managing code changes using our version control system 

• Performing code reviews 

• Any other task/responsibility which may be related and/or connected to the role of Backend Developer 

Knowledge, Experience & Skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field 

• Experience in a comparable software development role, mastering PHP as programming language. 

• Proven Laravel experience would be considered as an advantage 

• Good knowledge of REST or GraphQL web services 

• Aware of the challenges which come with working on scalable and high-performant applications  

• Proficiency with development in Linux environments 

• Ability to proficiently document and write test cases 

• Structured, good attention to detail and thorough 

• Ability to work with minimal supervision   

• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
