Performance Engineer - Games Analysis (6 Months Internship)

We are a dynamic team of engineers who are passionate about technology and innovation. By analysing a broad spectrum of applications using GPU for accelerating real-time graphics rendering we create performance profiles of typical GPU usage patterns. By analysing different types of workloads we detect trends in the software landscape and predict how future applications are going to make use of the hardware we are designing.

Working in our team, you’ll get understanding how diverse types of graphics workloads like games or content creation tools are utilizing acceleration API’s like DirectX 12 or Vulkan to deliver ultimate experience to the consumers. Looking under-the-hood of the graphics algorithms and observing step by step how each frame of computer animation is build up from scratch will give you invaluable insight into foundation of such emerging technologies like VR, AR and Digital Twins.

The collection of the data from the applications will require understanding of the gaming market, familiarity with diverse distribution channels for digital content and the ability to quickly grasp new trends in the gaming market. As the process of data collection from diversified sources might be demanding, both stubborn and creative mind is required. We are looking for goal focused candidates willing to propose solutions and workarounds for issues arising both on the software and hardware part of the stack.

Our office is localized in Olivia Centre Gdansk. We have flexible working hours with hybrid work model.

You will:

• Perform installation and initial evaluation of diverse 3D graphics applications
• Define test scenarios
• Do the capturing and performance measurements of games and other graphics workloads
• Automate common tasks with scripts

You'll have:

• Passion for gaming, new interactive technologies and computer graphics in general
• Familiarity with popular game distribution platforms (Steam, Epic Store, Gog, …)
• Intermediate programming skills in scripting languages
• Problem solving skills and patience for long running tasks

You might also have:

• Experience with performance measurements and optimization
• Experience with graphics workload capturing tools like RenderDoc, PIX, PVRCarbon
