Django Developer — Hut Forty Two
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Hybrid) Salary: 15 500 zl – 18 000 per month (dependent on experience) Working Hours: 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday Expected Start Date: TBC
About Us
At Hut Forty Two, we work with companies to solve real-world problems. We aren't just building to a checklist; we act as long-term product partners, taking collective product ownership through continuous development and collaborative workshops. From our fully remote hubs in Norfolk and Łódź, we build innovative, scalable software where quality and longevity come first. We’ve grown quickly on the back of a solid client base, and we have a raft of exciting, long-term projects on the horizon.
Our core stack is Python/Django/Django REST, HTMX, Alpine, and Tailwind CSS. Increasingly, we're also building lightweight serverless applications using Hono paired with AWS Lambda and CDK/SAM-based infrastructure stacks — and we're actively embracing AI tooling to sharpen how we develop and deliver software.
We're hiring two mid-level developers to join a small, collaborative remote team.
The Role
You'll work across a variety of client web service projects, internal DevOps tooling, and our own growing suite of SaaS products. You'll be involved in the full development lifecycle — from architectural discussions through to testing, documentation, and maintenance.
Day-to-day, this includes stand-ups, sprint planning, and retros, as well as keeping your agile board up to date and logging time at the end of each day.
We favour developers who can operate across the stack — from well-structured Django backends and REST APIs through to front-end interfaces — and who are comfortable adapting as our toolset evolves.
Technical Requirements
Core (required):
Python 3.x and Django (≥ 2.2)
Django REST Framework
SQL — Postgres or MySQL
Git / GitHub
RESTful API integration
Familiarity with agile workflows and project tools (GitHub Issues/Agile Boards, GSuite)
Increasingly important (desirable but not essential):
Hono or similar lightweight JS/TS frameworks for serverless front ends
AWS — Lambda, CDK, SAM, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tooling
AI-assisted development — comfort using tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar for code generation, task automation, and productivity
Tailwind CSS
HTMX / Alpine.js
Pydoc / Sphinx for documentation
We're not expecting every candidate to tick every box — if you're strong on the Django side and genuinely curious about the serverless and AI tooling space, we'd love to hear from you.

Build and maintain full-stack web applications and backend APIs
Write clean, structured, testable code in line with our internal standards
Author automated tests and contribute to documentation
Package reusable features for use across projects

UK-based candidates — attendance at our Holt office is not mandatory but is welcomed and encouraged
Poland-based candidates — we have an established team in our Łódź office; Thursday attendance is required and we can accommodate further if office-based days are preferred by the candidate.
Quarterly team meetups — the UK team comes together in London, Cambridge, or Norfolk roughly every three months; all team members are expected to attend where possible and annually as a whole team
Please confirm in your application whether you're able our office in Łódź once per week (typically on Thursdays)
Hut Forty Two is committed to supporting career development and making resources available for our team to learn and grow. Whatever your level, if you're excited about building great software and staying ahead of the curve, we want to hear from you.
