Technical Consultant – Blue Yonder WMS
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop integrations and extensions in line with IT/WMS policies (e.g., change management, BY Core), including providing support to implementation teams by preparing development solutions, reviewing project specifications, and delivering “first time right” solutions.
- With support from architects or senior team members: gather requirements for technical architecture, and assist with installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and development activities.
- Continuously improve delivered solutions based on project reviews and problem management feedback (“lessons learned from the field”).
- Analyze and resolve reported technical incidents, and initiate preventive actions to avoid recurrence (problem management).
- Develop solutions/extensions/modules/components according to project needs, including preparing technical documentation and providing technical support during Go-Live.
- Contribute to the development of BY WMS Core through modularity and generalization (reusability, parameterization).
- Build and maintain development frameworks for BY WMS Core and downstream operational installations – manage versions, deployments (“product architecture”), and certification.
- Define, implement, and maintain requirements for BY WMS hosting infrastructure – both in data centers and with cloud providers (IAAS). Monitor BY WMS applications, deploy fixes, and implement preventive measures.
- Drive and implement technical innovations – e.g., automated environment deployments, automated testing, robotics.
- Document solutions and working standards.
- Prepare reports and provide consulting tasks upon request from IT management.
Requirements:
- Preferred university degree in computer science, information systems, logistics, or related field (or equivalent qualifications).
- Minimum 2 years of technical experience with Blue Yonder (JDA/RedPrairie) WMS implementations.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical IT roles.
Technical skills:
- Windows operating systems
- Scripting languages: Python, Perl, PowerShell
- Java/J2EE
- RESTful Web Services
- APIs (JSON/XML)
- API endpoint testing (e.g., Postman)
- PLSQL, SQL, and general database knowledge and structure
- Microsoft SQL Server (including performance analysis)
- Knowledge of interfaces between WMS and ERP/HOST, TMS, LMS, etc.
- Ability to map data between client and target systems
- Proficiency with operating systems, client-server technologies, ERP systems, integrations, and middleware
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex issues.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with large business and IT teams.
- Clear communication skills at all organizational levels – both business and IT.
- Enthusiasm, flexibility, and self-reliance.
- Very good command of English.
- Additional languages such as French, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, or German are a plus.
