Functional Consultant Blue Yonder WMS

Your Responsibilities:

- Support implementation teams in all tasks related to client deployment projects, in line with IT/WMS policies (e.g., change management, BY Core). This includes gathering and refining requirements, configuring Blue Yonder WMS, preparing specifications for development (interfaces, labels, and forms), testing solutions, training key users, migration tasks during Go-Live, and incident resolution.

- Support similar business projects such as process improvement initiatives and implementing client-driven changes.

- Collect business stakeholder requirements and guide project teams in defining measurable, achievable requirements aligned with project timelines. Document integration (interfaces), forms, and label specifications, and collaborate with stakeholders to obtain approvals.

- Recommend solutions within configurable BY WMS functionalities and influence stakeholders to accept them. Where this is not feasible (e.g., major inefficiency), define development needs together with solution architects and the project team.

- Propose WMS-standard solutions and advocate for their adoption.

- Analyze and resolve reported incidents and initiate preventive measures to avoid recurrence (problem management).

- Support Go-Live migration and handover to support teams.

- Document solutions and working standards.

- Prepare reports and provide consulting input on request from IT management.

Requirements:

- University degree (or equivalent professional experience) in fields such as industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain management, or computer science. Alternatively, at least 10 years of experience in the logistics industry.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in Blue Yonder WMS projects – covering implementations, upgrades, and user support.

- Participation in at least 2 WMS implementation projects (Blue Yonder or similar – e.g., Manhattan, SAP) in complex, multi-site (preferably international) supply chain environments, with responsibility for system configuration.

- Strong functional knowledge of Blue Yonder WMS and at least basic technical understanding. BY certification is a strong plus.

- Experience in integration projects with clients.

- Ability to refine requirements within teams and drive optimal project solutions.

- Capability to work in large business and IT teams and openness to collaboration.

- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels – from warehouse operators to senior management.

- Enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
