We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to be responsible for providing solutions for technical issues which may affect solution delivery. They will facilitate requirements analyses, conduct peer reviews, provide feedback, enhance frameworks as well as acting as a strong individual contributor in their area of remit.
What we require is an individual with strong knowledge of best practices, good organisational skills, and strong proficiency in Java technologies.
What you’ll do
- Own technical delivery for their team as well as lead it.
- Build and supporting services, microservices and applications (back-end & front-end) in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, ReactJS etc. while maintaining and preserving standard products.
- Reduce cost and complexity of interfacing with further surrounding systems from a “point to point” approach to a modern approach with an integration layer such as APIs, MuleSoft, Kafka topics, microservices patterns, Juniper Ingress/Egress patterns or/and WMB EAI/MQ and reduce costs in testing by adopting automation testing frameworks.
- Increase Straight-Trough-Processing (STP) capabilities of services.
- Develop, maintain, and support (DevOps) of services using Java with Spring Boot as well as manage payment services portfolio hosted on cloud and on-premises hosting.
- Develop, maintain, and support of service-related interfaces (its orchestration layer) using set of APIs or microservices patterns as for the solution.
- Use Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, RTC, G3, Nexus etc. for artifact management and wherein the code release mechanism.
- Follow Agile & DevOps working methodology and tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint etc.).
- Work with Business Analysts, Project/Product Managers to understand business requirements and how they translate into development sprints.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Java17+ essential
- Knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot strongly preferred.
- Database technologies Oracle essential, and Postgres desirable.
- Experience building ReSTful APIs essential – SOAP not required.
- HTPP Web technologies JavaScript, javax.ws. ReactJs preferable.
- Microservice experience and the associated patterns essential.
- MQ experience strongly preferred.
- Cyber security knowledge desirable.
- Understanding of DevOps principles essential.
