    For Global Operations and Automation (GOA), we are currently looking for a collaborative Solution Architect with technical leader mindset having the spirit to make change happen and champion bold new ideas that will continue to transform the experiences of our clients.

    You will be responsible for defining and managing the architecture for a sub-value stream working closely with the business outcome and technology leads, designing end to end solutions to help deliver the agreed outcomes and key results (OKRs).


    Solution Architecture

    The Solution Architect leads end to end solution design across different GB/GF changes whether in the regions or Global Value Streams. They are responsible for delivering in line with global patterns and strategies where appropriate and to align business requirements to technology solutions. They will provide consistent end to end solution designs which will deliver expected Business Outcomes, satisfy all relevant regulatory requirement and mitigate identified operational risks.


    Their primary stakeholders are Sub-Value Stream Product Owners/Business, Technical Leads, Platform and Value Stream architects, and PODs.



    What you’ll do

    • Defining the detailed integration interfaces & end to end solution design for products and features in a way that supports the execution of the GO&A technology strategy and roadmap, articulating and addressing associated architectural risks, issues, and technical debt.
    • Translating the requirements created by business analysts into the architecture for that solution, ensuring the products and services meet the customer needs and expected Business Outcomes.
    • Engage with relevant Stakeholders, Platform Leads and Enterprise Architects to define the detailed solution design (incl. Story Decomposition) for stories in backlog..
    • Ensuring the design of the solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities.
    • Ensuring the NFRs are consistently defined and architected into the design.
    • Effectively manage & escalate risks/issues, to ensure there are no surprises for the PM &/or stakeholder where appropriate.
    • Ensuring the architecture undergoes appropriate level of assessment at the right stage throughout the agile process in line with the Governance process ensuring adherence to Decision Driven Design and the Solution Architecture.
    • Production of relevant risk-based architecture deliverables are completed in accordance with Architecture governance process and quality standards.
    • Appropriate level of governance for any decisions when deviating from Reference Architectures, Strategies, Patterns or Policies
    • Peer review and solutions design decision making verification and traceability.
    • Collaborating with the Enterprise, Platform and Value Stream architects to evolve the architectural strategy and roadmap; looking for opportunities to improve the current landscape/enterprise.
    • Identify dependencies across multiple Platforms and Value & Sub-Value Streams; awareness of projects/strategies outside of the Value Stream.
    • Developing and growing a skillset to design for cloud and for resilient, robust, secure, adaptable, and flexible solution, which can be further endorsed by Market Place.
    • Act as interface to other architectural groups both regional and at Group level.
    • Providing leadership with individual PODs or working with several PODs aligned to and Sub Value Stream to ensure consistency of direction.


    What you need to have to succeed in this role

    • Maths, Engineering or Computer Science related degree.
    • Experience in delivering IT solutions over several years in architecture and non-architecture roles.
    • Experience working in or with agile product feature teams or Pods using methodologies like Scrum.
    • Use of collaboration tools and agile ways of working with Confluence, Jira, etc.
    • A software engineering background.
    • Track record in designing cloud solutions, AWS preferred but GCP and Azure also useful.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Capability to influence and champion new ideas and technical direction within the organization.
    • Ability to collaborate with the Business and Engineers to ensure solutions adhere to principles and direction set.
    • Ability to breakdown non-functional requirements into Infrastructure and Security designs.
    • Excellent Communication skills and the ability to adapt verbal and written communications to the appropriate audience to communicate at the right level.
    • Technical and business stakeholder management from developers to executive management.
    • Good understanding of the Business Functional Domains (with at least one function end to end); Operations and Frontline activities.
    • Awareness on Integration concepts, techniques, and patterns.
