We’re Markets & Securities Services IT Poland, a technology department providing technology services and solutions for the Investment Bank businesses at HSBC. Systems we create enable transactions across multiple asset classes. Our teams work in partnership with the business counterparts to deliver high-throughput systems, from low latency trading applications to large Microservices platforms. We also perform architecture and cloud migrations. 

The GDM eTrading IT has a proven track record of delivering critical front office e-trading solution and pricing. The team covers the main aspects of an e-trading solution (ie: pricing, market data, market connectivity, order management). A successful candidate will be working with a global team, that is spread over Paris, NY, and London, to build a multi-tier, high availability system that covers a large range of products; i.e.: government bonds EUR/GBP/USD, repos and IRS.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement pricing and hedging functionality across multiple regions.

• Develop high-performance, JVM-based Algo trading systems.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to automate trading and enhance market intelligence strategies.

• Build and maintain a React-based HTML5 trading platform.

• Expand testing and back testing capabilities to improve strategy development.

• Integrate with existing Fixed Income electronic trading platforms and analytical tools.

• Support trading expansion to new venues and desks.

• Conduct research on technology and business processes to drive innovation.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

We are looking for candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience and the following qualifications:

• Strong Java/Scala server-side development experience, including multi-threading.

• Proven track record in building high-performance, low-latency systems.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented and/or functional programming principles.

• Experience with distributed systems in trading or mission-critical environments.

• Familiarity with agile delivery and ownership of production systems.

• Ability to work independently and solve complex problems.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

• Attention to detail and a proactive, self-driven approach.

Nice to have:

• Experience with HTML5/React front-end technologies.

• Knowledge of BDD/TDD methodologies.

• Familiarity with middleware such as ION, Solace, or RMDS.

• Understanding of Fixed Income market mechanics and e-trading workflows.
