HSBC is seeking an experienced Collateral Business Analyst to join the Collateral IT team.
Collateral IT provides software solutions for the Collateral Operations and Collateral Treasury functions of the bank.
Collateral Operations is responsible for the Collateral Management of Uncleared OTC Derivatives for the Global Fixed Income, FX and Equity Derivatives businesses as well as performing Margining for the Fixed Income Repo business and a cross asset class Portfolio Reconciliations & Client Valuation function. Collateral Treasury is the front office function responsible for the optimal use of Collateral within the bank.
Collateral IT provides the technology that allows these business areas to perform the above functions globally. We are part way through a multi-year project to build a brand new Collateral platform which will ultimately replace the current platform for Collateral Operations and already performs key functions for Collateral Treasury.
HSBC is heavily investing in an Agile culture and adoption of DevOps processes and Collateral is at the leading edge of these changes.
What you’ll do
- Challenge business requirements and work with clients to understand business context and issues.
- Provide the team with the business and domain clarification and create user stories.
- Contribute to the definition of solution design options and support solutions that address the defined business need.
- Drive down manual testing via use of automated testing, define acceptance criteria and acceptance tests, facilitate UAT.
- Improve frequency of deployments into production.
- Contribute to gradual go-live of projects through use of incremental deliveries and switches within applications.
- Use of continuous integration to ensure defects are identified as early as possible.
- Work closely with delivery team to ensure IT solutions meet success criteria for projects.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Extensive experience in technical business analysis (8+ years).
- At least 5 years’ experience in the capital markets work environment, with knowledge of the following areas: Collateral Management, Repos Settlement, Tri-party.
- Can act as product owner and be committed to build the best product possible by actively engaging with business and development teams and contribute to sprint/Kanban planning/grooming process.
- Experience of working with Front Office and Operations teams on new requirements/change items relating to Collateral Management.
- Experience of delivering projects while working with teams using agile.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the project organisation.
- Excels in fast-paced, high pressure, environment with proven context switching ability.
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of BCBS margin regulations and SIMM and Schedule Initial Margin calculation methodologies.
- Knowledge of ISDA margin rules and experience in implementing system changes to meet various regulatory requirements.
