Your career opportunityRegulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
What you’ll do
Establishing the function as a valued commodity to assist in banks response to compliance risk.
Operating within a continually changing environment where priorities and objectives can continually change.
Keeping the bank compliant and customers data safe in a changing landscape of data sharing legislation
Expected to be at the leading edge of the new technical skill set and working with new emerging tech.
The role holder is responsible for the identification of Compliance related models as classified by the Group Model Risk standards and ensuring that these are developed and managed in accordance with these standards.
The role holder should also implement and oversee appropriate controls and governance to any analytical products or services that are classified as non-models and provide appropriate and timely management and remedial action to any risks, issues or findings related to their responsibilities.
Partner with relevant stakeholders within IT, Product management to deliver innovative analytical solutions to meet business demand.
Work with control functions, Audit, and Independent Model Review (IMR) to ensure the effective operation of the control framework including sharing best practice and thematic read across
What you need to have to succeed in this role
University degree in technology, data analytics or related discipline or relevant work experience in computer or Data Science
Understanding of Regulatory Compliance, risks and direct experience of deployment of controls and analytics to manage those risks.
Experience in Financial Services (experience within a tier one bank) or related industry
Fair understanding of applied mathematics, statistics, data science principles and advanced computing (machine learning, modelling, NLP and Generative AI)
Moderate experience working within the Hadoop ecosystem in addition to strong technical skills in analytical languages such as Python and SQL. Specific knowledge of GCP, AWS, Azure, Spark and/or graph theory an advantage.
Medium level understanding of data & architecture concepts including cloud, ETL, Ontology, Data Modelling.
Experience of using GIT, PowerPoint and Advanced Excel.
