Lead Software Engineer (Finance IT-PCP2)

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We’re Markets & Securities Services IT Poland, a technology department providing technology services and solutions for the Investment Bank businesses at HSBC. Systems we create enable transactions across multiple asset classes. Our teams work in partnership with the business counterparts to deliver high-throughput systems, from low latency trading applications to large Microservices platforms. We also perform architecture and cloud migrations.

Finance IT is a specialist team dedicated to independent review of Front Office and Risk models, Profit and Loss analysis. Support of Product Control in the design and implementation of software to enhance the control framework used by Product Control and Market Risk Management.

We are looking for a passionate Lead Software Engineer who will join our global development team. Working closely with technical leads and developers in Poland, United Kingdom, India and China. The team is engaged in the definition, development and implementation of Product Control’s strategic analysis and reporting systems.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyse and capture functional & non-functional requirements for long-term and short-term projects.
• Design and implement tools and features to high standards and in timely manner using test driven development techniques.
• Provide support for team’s owned application to users (On-call/weekend rota support).
• Contribute to the strategic vision for building up the team’s development infrastructure.
• Influence and coach other teams and less experienced colleagues.
• Actively engage with other team members for development projects and contribute to team discussions on development issues.
• Follow best software development practices to ensure high quality product and adherence to design objectives.
• Provide prompt resolution of problem issues related to the relevant software.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE REQUIRE

• Solid knowledge and experience with Python, .NET, Microsoft SQL Server. (5+ years)
• Experience and solid knowledge of designing and developing multi-tier and multi-layer applications.
• Experience in creating observable systems.
• Very good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Effective team player with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Responsibility for end-to-end delivery, independence, initiative, discipline.
• Proactivity and drive to constantly develop and learn new skills.
• Fluency in English both spoken and written.
• Good presentation skills to be able to influence colleagues within organization.
