HSBC Markets and Securities Services (MSS) is an emerging markets-led and financing-focused business that provides tailored financial solutions to major government, corporate and institutional clients worldwide. The role is within MSS IT – a department of HSBC Technology Services (HTS) - providing IT application development and support services to Business and IT teams within HSBC MSS.

In particular, the HTS DCS Team falls under the MSS IT Securities Financing function, providing 24*7 development, enhancement, and support for a number of components.

What you’ll do

• Infrastructure development, maintenance, and improvement on infrastructure components.
• End to end ownership of GCP infrastructure, GKE management and monitoring,
• Participate and drive architectural and technical design decisions for infra and build related subjects.
• Improving and optimizing our CI/CD and Ops pipelines.
• Develop Alerting and monitor infrastructure.
• Design, develop and implement tooling components. 
• Support development teams and SREs.
• Help with role swap / disaster recovery procedures.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Diverse IT background with proven development experience (in study and/or previous roles) and an active interest in technology and programming.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud Devops role.
• Practical experience with tools: Containers (docker/podman), Terraform, packer, ansible, git. 
• Practical experience with managing Kubernetes cluster (GKE would be huge plus).
• Experience in Ansible Tower/Ansible Playbook, Team City, ELK stack, CI/CD development, Grafana, InfluxDB or Promoteus.
• Good knowledge of microservice architecture patterns, git strategies, software development lifecycle process.
• Knowledge of languages: Python, Bash
• A willingness to provide occasional weekend or after-hours support or cover as needs require.
