What you’ll do
- Fully understand the application you have ownership for, ensuring you can keep it service safe, secure, resilient, and available as well as ensuring infrastructure and services adhere to compliance, control standards and KCI requirements.
- Foster a compliance first culture across the organization and ensure engineering teams are aligned with and informed of changes in the control landscape and provide guidance and governance oversight during the service lifecycle, ensuring all governance activities are documented and monitored effectively.
- Participate in various governance, compliance and controls forums and projects, representing the service(s) you own or support.
- Identify and present risk factors and impact to Business Owners while executing risk remediation activities in collaboration with responsible technical teams.
- Drive governance and ensure completion of activities related to releasing services into production from a governance perspective.
- Manage infrastructure asset inventories, complete periodic service reviews, and maintain ongoing oversight of service health as well as update and monitor service management repositories, ensuring accuracy and compliance with governance policies.
- Take part in service operation and management BAU activities, including supporting the team with release management cycle for the services you own and support ensuring infrastructure and services adhere to compliance, control standards and KCI requirements.
- Act as a governance lead for project delivery teams, offering direction and ensuring adherence to governance protocols.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Previous experience in IT governance, compliance, or service management/ownership roles.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, analyse solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details, with ability to handle multiple governance and compliance related tasks.
- Strong Communication Skills to provide clear governance direction and guidance to project teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Confidence to make decisions at key moments, often in time critical situations, and challenge when risk appetite, service resilience and stability are threatened.
- Familiarity with service management frameworks and tools (ITIL, ServiceNow, etc.) as well as with Agile ways of working and understanding of how to apply agile methodologies within a governance and compliance work and with collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence, SharePoint welcome.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing and its relevance to infrastructure and service management.
