The Head of Control Centre is a newly established leadership role created to bring clarity, consistency, and control to a set of critical operational disciplines that are currently distributed across the Client Connectivity department. The role exists to consolidate fragmented activity, eliminate duplication, and establish a single point of accountability for risk, resilience, cyber, release, and environment management.
In the near term, the Head of Control Centre will be responsible for identifying all individuals across the department currently performing Control Centre-related work, bringing them into a unified function, and aligning them around a common operating model and set of standards. Over time, this role will be the driving force behind a mature, proactive, and continuously improving control environment.
What you’ll do

Build and lead a high-performing team, bringing together dispersed colleagues into a cohesive function with shared goals, aligned processes, and strong engagement.
Own the department’s risk and control framework, driving a proactive risk culture where issues are identified, assessed, remediated, and evidenced effectively.
Lead audit, compliance and regulatory engagement, acting as the single point of accountability and producing clear reporting for senior management and governance forums.
Own operational resilience outcomes, including critical service identification, impact tolerances, business continuity, disaster recovery testing, incident management, and lessons learned.
Lead cyber, fraud and surveillance controls for Client Connectivity, partnering with Group Information Security and representing the function in relevant governance forums.
Govern change and release management, ensuring end-to-end visibility of changes, consistent risk assessment and approval, quality metrics, and safe, frequent delivery through modern engineering practices and automation/AI where appropriate."

Strong technology risk/control leadership experience within financial services, operating at senior level with clear accountability for outcomes.
Deep knowledge of risk and control frameworks, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and embedding them at scale.

Engineering empathy and credibility, able to partner effectively with software engineers and understand modern delivery practices and constraints.
Automation and AI mindset, with the ability to identify operational pain points and work with engineering/data teams to deliver measurable efficiency and control improvements.
Proven leadership in matrixed environments, motivating cross-functional teams and driving alignment across distributed stakeholders.
