Enterprise Technology brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti- money laundering, transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime.

The Global Social Network Analytics (GSNA) platform uses Big Data technology together with AI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify potential financial crime risks that enable a global network of Investigators, Intelligence Analysts and Data Scientists to conduct effective intelligence-based investigations.

We are currently looking for Cloud DevOps Engineer. This role is based at our Global Technology Centre in Krakow.

The team is made up of 10 scrum teams based across China, India, Poland and the UK. We run Agile Scrum with 2-week sprints, and releases every 6 weeks. Our Technology stack is a mix of Scala, Spark, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, with a move to GCP Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins CICD DevOps

What you’ll do

• Work as a DevOps Engineer within the development team transforming our applications to Google Cloud Platform.

• Implement CI/CD pipeline Compliance use cases in GCP   

• Collaborate with central teams (architecture, security, engineering, networks) who are responsible for delivering HSBC baseline cloud architecture. Ensure that Compliance requirements are considered  

• Collaborate with other development teams that are also working to deliver use cases on GCP e.g. share best practice.  

• Implement DevOps / Automation on GCP according to system requirement  

Required skills:

• Deep knowledge on Google Cloud Platform - GCP Certification is a plus

• 3+ years of experience as DevOps

• Good working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, Git.

• Unix administration skills,

• Bash/shell scripting

• Automation toolset (Jenkins, Terraform and/or Ansible),

• Previous experience in agile and scrum methodologies

• Fluent English

• Experience in working with diverse teams and cultures

Nice to have:

• GKE / Kubernetes

• Python & Scala development

• Technical background as software developer

• Knowledge of other agile approaches/frameworks other than Scrum

• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Big Data

• Good knowledge of databases and ETLs,

• Knowledge on Elastic Search / Dataproc

• Experience in working in an international environment
