We are currently seeking a Citrix Senior Engineer to join the Citrix & Thin Client Engineering pod. The team is responsible for engineering and automating all aspects of desktop virtualisation technologies used within HSBC including updates and lifecycle management. This primarily covers Citrix technologies (including, but not limited to, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix Cloud / Citrix DaaS) with workloads hosted on VMware and Microsoft Azure. 

This role presents an opportunity to be actively involved in engineering one of the largest Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop estates (150,000+ virtual desktop machine) across 26 countries as well as working with a variety of desktop virtualization and supporting technologies. 

What you’ll do

• Be directly responsible for delivering engineering solutions to provide an outstanding virtual desktop user experience. 
• Use automation and DevOps tooling to deliver complex updates and configuration changes across the estate at speed and reliably.
• Engineer solutions making use of the latest technologies and using cloud offerings where appropriate.
• Provide technical expertise to stakeholders and other technology teams within the Chief Technology Office.
• Contribute to the team and organization OKRs, working collaboratively and demonstrating a commitment to shared success

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Demonstrable extensive experience of Citrix technologies – specifically Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop.
• Citrix Cloud / DaaS services and Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.
• Experience with automation and DevOps tooling (Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience of thin client deployments at large scale.
• Proactive, possess an outgoing personality, self-motivated and be able to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong communication skills to be able influence and challenge stakeholders
