Housecall Pro Director of Engineering
Housecall Pro is the #1 rated app for home service companies in the United States. The company is based in San Diego, California, USA. However, we have a number of engineering teams in Poland that we’re looking to expand.
As an Engineering Director at Housecall Pro you’ll help build and lead our world-class team of engineers and engineering leaders. You’ll work hands-on with the engineering team to deliver incredible products and experiences to our customers. . Interfacing with Product Managers and Product Designers to help lead our Product Engineering teams, you'll be responsible for setting the technical direction within our organization. Your teams will iterate through fast-paced use cases, design, develop, and test features and push those features to production on a daily basis. You will help the teams to continually improve those processes.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Build out Engineering best practices and processes,
- Hire, grow and develop the Engineering team and culture,
- Inspire and mentor a several teams of talented Engineers and first line Engineering managers and technical leads,
- Drive the Engineering vision, help own the Engineering roadmap and lead projects, from requirements gathering to delivery,
- Collaborate with product managers, business operations, engineers, engineering leaders, and business partners,
- Collaborate with Product Peers to keep engineering and product aligned,
- Planning, monitoring, and steering strategic development topics, taking part in strategic roadmap planning, and improving development processes.

- 3+ Experience building and leading multiple teams of outstanding Engineers,
- 7+ years of engineering experience,
- Expertise with Ruby on Rails, React, iOS and Android, software architecture and distributed systems,
- Excellent technical aptitude as well as superior project and people management skills,
- Ability to work and scale within a fast-growing and agile company and to think and plan strategically,
- Experience in mentoring and coaching team members and other leaders,
- Proven track record of building a culture that encourages autonomy, innovation, teamwork, and productivity,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for working with different audiences.
- Fluent in Polish and English
