Position Overview:

For one of our partners, we are seeking a PHP Developer, you’ll build software with purpose and joy, playing a key role in evolving our large-scale SaaS platform as we transition from a monolithic architecture to a distributed, cloud-native system on AWS. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in environments rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and a beginner’s mind (what we call Shoshin) and enjoy working cross-functionally with teams. The Stack You’ll Be Working On:

• Languages: PHP/Python (backend) and React (frontend)

• Cloud: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, ECS, S3, CloudWatch)

• CI/CD: Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub

What You’ll Do:

• Work on backend services written in PHP (monolith) with already several services in Python. We are transitioning our monolith into independent, scalable AWS-based services.

• Contribute to backend design, development, and testing within a fast-moving, agile team.

• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers (React) to build meaningful features for our users.

• Write clean, tested, and observable code - from unit tests to E2E, you’ll own the full quality pipeline.

• Participate in code reviews, team rituals, and knowledge sharing with peers across teams. 

This is not a complete list of responsibilities, and the scope of the role may evolve with the needs of the team and business. 

What we’re looking for:

• 2-5 years of backend engineering experience in production environments

• Proficiency with Python and working knowledge of AWS (especially serverless technologies like Lambda and API Gateway)

• Experience with CI/CD workflows and confidence in deploying to production

• Familiarity with automated testing and writing reliable, testable code

• Motivation to learn, grow, and contribute in a team that values autonomy

• Strong communication skills in English (our engineering language)
