Job Description

Job Summary: 

We are seeking an L2 Cryptography Engineer to support the implementation, maintenance, and auditing of cryptographic services and infrastructure. You will assist in key management, certificate handling, secure protocol configuration, and cryptographic compliance efforts. Ideal candidates should have a foundational understanding of cryptographic concepts, protocols, and tools, with the ability to collaborate across engineering and security teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Support daily cryptographic operations: key rotation, certificate issuance/renewals, token handling. 

• Assist in managing PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), HSMs (Hardware Security Modules), and secure key storage solutions. 

• Monitor cryptographic services for performance, anomalies, and security compliance. 

• Work closely with development teams to implement and troubleshoot cryptographic integrations (e.g., TLS/SSL, digital signatures, encryption). 

• Document key lifecycle processes and maintain accurate key/cert inventory. 

• Document and maintain Crypto Register 

• Conduct basic cryptographic risk assessments and audits under guidance. 

• Assist in incident response involving cryptographic issues (e.g., certificate expiration, algorithm deprecation). 

Required Experience & Skills: 

• 3–5 years of experience in security or cryptography-related roles. 

• Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms (RSA, ECC, AES, SHA, etc.). 

• Understanding of protocols like TLS, SSH, IPsec, and secure email (S/MIME, PGP). 

• Working knowledge of PKI and certificate management (e.g., X.509). 

• Experience with HSMs (e.g., Azure HSM, Thales).
