Position Overview:

For one of our partners, we are seeking a DB2 Specialist who will be responsible for Database Administration, Documentation & Performance Optimization etc. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to contribute to the success of our partner organization.

Database Administration:

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM DB2 databases.

• Implement database security measures and ensure data integrity.

Performance Optimization:

• Conduct regular performance tuning to enhance database efficiency.

• Monitor and analyse database performance metrics to identify and address bottlenecks.

Query Optimization:

• Optimize SQL queries and provide guidance to developers for efficient database interactions.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize downtime.

Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly, collaborating with cross-functional teams when necessary.

Scripting and Automation:

• Utilize scripting languages to automate routine database tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to meet business requirements.

Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Security Management:

• Implement and enforce database security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Continuous Learning:

• Stay updated on the latest DB2 advancements and incorporate best practices into database management processes.

Disaster Recovery Planning:

• Contribute to the development and testing of disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime in critical scenarios.

Communication:

• Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
