About the job: The role is in a new start up owned by a leading Polish Agricultural processor. The business is focused on delivering exceptional returns in agriculture and livestock trading. There is an opportunity to use a mix of fundamental and quantitative strategies in a diversified portfolio to generate excess return strategies. You will be collaborating with traders with deep domain expertise having a long track record of returns beating industry benchmarks.
- Conducting data-driven research and analysis on agricultural and livestock commodity markets.
- Develop and maintain supply and demand balance sheets
- Build and optimize quantitative models based on market technicals
- Optimally allocate risk to quantitative trading strategies in collaboration with traders
- Clean up and structure external and proprietary data to be used for internal research
- Conduct back-testing and validation processes of algorithmic trading strategies to ensure the reliability and accuracy of models before implementation
- Utilizing statistical techniques, machine learning, and econometrics to analyze market behaviors and opportunities.
- Automating data collection, processing, and visualization to enhance decision-making processes.
- Help develop and maintain position and risk management tools
- Have a master’s degree in finance, economics, or another related quantitative field
- Experience in econometrics or fundamental analysis in the commodities space is a plus
- Excellent programming skills, preferably in Python, VBA and Excel APIs
- Exposure to machine learning techniques desirable
- Communicate fluently in English – both written and verbal
- Ability to independently multi task in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a curious mindset challenging the entire team
- Willingness to ensure coverage during market hours
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to work
