Role: Quantitative Analyst (Agriculture and livestock commodities)

Location: Warsaw, Poland (on site)


About the job: The role is in a new start up owned by a leading Polish Agricultural processor. The business is focused on delivering exceptional returns in agriculture and livestock trading. There is an opportunity to use a mix of fundamental and quantitative strategies in a diversified portfolio to generate excess return strategies. You will be collaborating with traders with deep domain expertise having a long track record of returns beating industry benchmarks.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Conducting data-driven research and analysis on agricultural and livestock commodity markets.
  • Develop and maintain supply and demand balance sheets
  • Build and optimize quantitative models based on market technicals
  • Optimally allocate risk to quantitative trading strategies in collaboration with traders
  • Clean up and structure external and proprietary data to be used for internal research
  • Conduct back-testing and validation processes of algorithmic trading strategies to ensure the reliability and accuracy of models before implementation
  • Utilizing statistical techniques, machine learning, and econometrics to analyze market behaviors and opportunities.
  • Automating data collection, processing, and visualization to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Help develop and maintain position and risk management tools


Qualifications

  • Have a master’s degree in finance, economics, or another related quantitative field
  • Experience in econometrics or fundamental analysis in the commodities space is a plus
  • Excellent programming skills, preferably in Python, VBA and Excel APIs
  • Exposure to machine learning techniques desirable
  • Communicate fluently in English – both written and verbal
