Staff iOS Engineer

We are looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to drive technical excellence, improve stability and performance, and reduce complexity across teams. You will collaborate with engineering teams, provide technical leadership through RFCs and ADRs, and maintain improvement roadmaps. Mentoring iOS engineers and supporting their growth will also be a key part of your role.

Essential functions

• Define and drive the technical vision and improvement roadmap for iOS.
• Establish and uphold standards for quality, stability, resilience, and performance.
• Engage in new initiatives from the outset to ensure a strong technical foundation.
• Provide technical leadership and foster innovation in iOS, documenting requirements through RFCs and ADRs.
• Represent iOS within the Staff/Principal Engineering Group.
• Mentor and coach engineers within the iOS community, supporting their professional growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience (incl. 2+ years as Staff/Principal Engineer).
• Expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and iOS frameworks (UIKit, Combine, Core Data, Core Animation).
• Strong experience in modular architecture and scalable solutions.
• Proficiency in performance optimization and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of backend integration (REST, GraphQL).
• Experience with app telemetry, crash reporting, and analytics tools (Firebase, Sentry, etc.).
• Strong technical documentation skills (RFCs, ADRs, Post Mortems).
• Advocate for best engineering practices (BDD, DDD, clean architecture).
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills.

Would be a plus

• Experience with backend (Golang, Kotlin).
• Development in Android (Kotlin, Java) or React Native.
• Knowledge of Bitrise, A/B Testing, Design Systems.
• Passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
