Senior QA Automation Engineer (Java)

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to join a long-term project focused on building a scalable, microservices-based architecture for a modern enterprise platform. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining robust automated test frameworks, ensuring coverage across API, UI, and end-to-end flows. This is a hands-on role with strong influence on the project’s quality strategy, tooling, and culture. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and DevOps engineers in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Essential functions

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks (API, UI, E2E) using Java

• Implement testing strategies that align with shift-left principles

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and quality at every stage

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to integrate testing effectively

• Support and mentor team members in test design and automation

• Document automation architecture and test approaches in Confluence

• Monitor test coverage, stability, and performance over time

Qualifications

• Proven experience in test automation using Java, JUnit/TestNG, REST-assured

• Hands-on skills with Selenium/Selenide, Playwright, and UI test automation

• Solid understanding of BDD tools like Cucumber or JBehave

• Familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI)

• Experience testing in microservices architecture

• Working knowledge of Docker and container-based environments

• Fluent English and strong communication skills

• Strong QA mindset with ability to collaborate closely with developers and analysts

Would be a plus

• Exposure to cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and DevOps practices

• Experience with test design patterns and test data management
