Senior Python Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer who’s excited to step into the world of AI and GenAI systems. While prior experience with machine learning is a plus, it’s not required - we welcome strong backend engineers ready to grow into AI-focused roles. You’ll join an agile team working on early-stage incubation projects that combine cutting-edge data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and real-time streaming technologies.

This is an excellent opportunity to transition into AI-first environments, working alongside experienced AI/ML engineers and data scientists.

Essential functions

• Design and build scalable, low-latency backend systems and microservices using Python (primary), Kafka, and REST APIs

• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate intelligent features and scalable pipelines into production systems

• Work in cloud-native environments (AWS or Azure) with modern developer tooling (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)

• Participate in the development of real-time streaming platforms leveraging Kafka and distributed systems

• Learn and contribute to AI components such as LLM integration, prompt engineering, vector DBs, and embeddings

• Help shape early-stage solutions in a fast-moving, cross-functional product team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience (Python preferred, but Java/C# also welcome)

• Solid understanding of microservice architectures, API design, and distributed systems

• Production experience with Kafka (required)

• Experience deploying to AWS or Azure environments

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks)

• Enthusiasm for growing into the AI/GenAI space - no prior ML/AI experience required, but you should be eager to learn

• Experience with tools like LangChain, OpenAI APIs, vector databases, or embeddings is a plus, not a must
